This Alabama Hills elopement was located west of Lone Pine California, near the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada. The Contrast between the rounded Alabama Hills to the chiseled peaks of the snowy Sierra Nevada made for the perfect backdrop for a dreamy adventure elopement. Alabama Hills has been a popular film location for movies such as Django, Gladiator and Godzilla. So if an elopement that feels like its straight out of movie is what you’re looking for, this might be the spot for you.
The Mobius Arch perfectly frames Mt. Whitney making it the most picturesque spot to exchange vows.
Because of how desolate this place can be, it isn’t yet a super crowded tourist destination, allowing you to celebrate the both of you in private. Though it is not a National park, it is still a form of public land and the Leave No Trace ethics still apply.
As a Bucket List Elopement photographer, I love destination elopements such as this one. We all camped out the night before, playing games, cooking food, and roasting marshmallows. In the morning we made breakfast and began getting ready for the hike up to the arch. with not another person in sight we were able to find the perfect location to exchange vows and take photos. Afterwards we hiked down to have a picnic with a stunning view and spent the rst of the day exploring the beautiful area that is Alabama Hills
